CD IELTS
*Computer-Delivered IELTS at GLS*
For nearly thirty years, the IELTS (The International
English Language Testing System) has been the staple for English proficiency
testing, traditionally offered in a paper-based format. Historically,
candidates could choose from 50 testing locations and 48 test dates each year,
available for both the Academic and General Training formats. However, the
introduction of computer-delivered IELTS now provides additional test date
flexibility, allowing test takers to select a time that best suits their schedule,
with the added benefit of receiving results within 5 to 7 days.
*Advantages of CD-IELTS at GLS:*
- Students have the capability to navigate forwards and
backwards through questions with ease.
- Time-saving features include the ability to copy and paste
directly from texts and notes.
- An automatic word counter is available during the Writing
test to assist students in tracking their word count efficiently.
*Computer-Delivered IELTS at GLS, West Delhi*
At GLS in West Delhi, the format, difficulty, and scoring
for the computer-delivered IELTS mirror those of the traditional paper-based
version. The main difference is that the Listening, Reading, and Writing tests
are conducted on a computer. The Speaking test, however, is still administered
face-to-face in a quiet room by a certified IELTS examiner.
*Listening Test Specifics for CD-IELTS:*
- Prior to starting each part of the Listening test, you
will have some time to read through the questions.
- After completing the Listening test, there is a two-minute
period to review your answers.
- The total duration of the Listening test ranges from
approximately 30 to 36 minutes.
*Availability and Registration for CD-IELTS:*
CD-IELTS is currently available in seven cities across
India. It is offered on selected days and registration depends on the
availability of slots. The fee for the test is INR 13,300. Candidates still
have the option to choose the paper-based format if they prefer.
Choosing the computer-delivered IELTS at GLS enhances
convenience without altering the test's core components, including the speaking
test, which remains a direct interaction with an examiner.
